Eden Clair A. Colon
Meet Eden Clair A. Colon
I’m Eden, a surfer based in Pacifico, on Siargao Island. I’ve been surfing for the past three years, and I try to be in the water at least twice a day. It’s essential for me.
I’m proud of myself for continuing to pursue surfing while carrying responsibilities for my family. Life hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve learned to stay strong, work hard and keep going when things get difficult. Becoming a quarterfinalist in an international surf competition reminded me that I’m capable of more than I imagine.
I reach for an electrolyte drink after surfing, on hot days, and whenever I need to replenish after an active day. Island life means a lot of time under the sun, so staying hydrated matters to me.
Doing it their way
I do things my own way by staying true to myself. As a surfer girl, I embrace my natural morena skin, enjoy the ocean and keep learning at my own pace. Everyone has their own journey, and I don’t need to follow someone else’s path to prove my worth. I just keep showing up, working hard and being authentically me.
